Customer Review: A great summer investment…if you make a few modifications
I bought this pool after my disasterous experience with the first one I purchased, which was an Intex 90″ x 22″ Swim Center Color Whirl Pool (please read the review I wrote about it before you consider buying that product). I purchased the pool alone (without the filter or other accessories) after reading several poor reviews about the quality of the filter that comes with the set. Instead of purchasing the 300 gallon/hour filter, I bought the Intex Easy Set 800 GPH pool pump/filter, which has been keeping the water clean without difficulty. If you are considering purchasing this pool, I would recommend that you do the same. In addition, I would also recommend buying the following items (many of these can be found at local stores if you would like to save money on shipping and handling):

1) a ground cloth…you can save some money by purchasing a Southern Camp 10′ x 10′ Blue Tarp (available at Amazon for a fraction of the price you’ll spend on one that’s labeled as a “swimming pool ground cloth” and it works just the same);

2) a pool cover…you can also use the tarp mentioned above for this purpose (just make sure you buy 2; one for use as a ground cloth and the other for a cover), but I would recommend buying a round pool cover that’s made for this type of pool because it stays in place better (it has drawstrings to help secure it to the inflatable ring);

3) pool chemicals…specifically: chlorine (in granular form), pH increaser (soda ash), pH decreaser (pool acid), algaecide/clarifier, conditioner, and pool shock (many of these chemicals are sold together in pool maintenance kits; just make sure the kit you purchase in suitable for use in inflatable pools)…also, you will need a chemical test kit for measuring pH and chlorine levels (these are usually included in pool maintenance kits, as well);

4) a pool skimmer net, a nylon pool brush, and a pole that can be used with both;

5) a package of spare filter cartridges for use with the pool pump/filter you purchase;

6) an Intex Pool Surface Skimmer/Leaf Basket (this is optional, but it does help keep the pool surface free of leaves and bugs) NOTE: THE SKIMMER CAN ONLY BE USED WITH A 500 GALLON PER HOUR INTEX POOL PUMP/FILTER OR LARGER (IT WILL NOT WORK WITH SMALLER MODELS)…AS I STATED BEFORE, I RECOMMEND BUYING THE 800 GALLON/HOUR MODEL; and

7) a pool ladder (this is also optional; you’ll only need it if you have children who are too short to step over the sides of this pool).

I bought all of the items mentioned above and I couldn’t be any happier with the end result. I haven’t had any of the water leakage or air leakage problems that I had with the first pool I purchased, even though I set it up in exactly the same spot. I was also able to set it up the entire system without any assistance. From start to finish, it took about 3 hours until it was ready to swim in. This pool seems to be quite durable; the whole family has been playing and splashing in it almost every day this summer, without any problems arising. It does cost more to buy the extra maintenance supplies and the pool parts separately (rather than buying the set with a filter that won’t do the job), but it has been worth the investment. And, unlike the Intex 90″ x 22″ Swim Center Color Whirl Pool, with a little bit of daily maintenance (checking the pH and chlorine levels, and using the skimmer net when needed), the water has remained clean, clear, and most importantly, IN THE POOL!

Customer Review: Lasted 3 weeks.
This was a great pool for my 5 year old daughter to play in. She also was learning how to swim, so it was perfect. The problem was that within a week it started to roll to one side and this was on our flat concreted patio with ground cover down to prevent scratching the pool plastic. As soon as it started to roll and the bottom was exposed to pressure it started leaking. For the first few days it was just a little bit and then suddenly it just ripped a seam open into a 6 inch hole that drained the whole pool in about 5 minutes.

Do not buy this pool. It is great for a week or two and then it is gone.

We have two very large male Maine Coon cats. We were using two hooded litter boxes. The cats did not seem to mind using them, but I felt that they just didn’t have enough room to use them comfortably. I wanted a big litter box that was not awful to look at. This litter box is perfect and fits nicely in our cat room. I also use the Litter Locker Plus so the blue color of this box compliments the Litter Locker. My cats absolutely love it! They took to it right away and they make less mess because they can move around in it much easier than the smaller hooded box. I highly recommend this box to anyone with large cats. It is deep enough that they do not kick litter out over the top. Two thumbs up on this product.

This pan is for MINI muffins, not regular-sized muffins. The “mini” part should be included in the name of the item, but unfortunately it is not. A bit pricey but after using them I am definitely glad I made the purchase. Make with chocolate cake and fill with chocolate mousse or white cake and fill with chocolate pudding and top with whipped cream and your guests will marvel. Of course, the usual- fill with berries, etc., and pipe on a little whipped cream …all make for spectacular desserts. A few tips: Make sure to spray well with a flour cooking spray for easy release. Just cover the flat surface with batter if you want a little smaller cake (not as high). If you don’t have one buy a large pastry bag and a large head for piping in mousse, whipped cream, etc.. Also- use half steam pan aluminum trays with the edges twisted up for easy storage of 6 muffins if you like to pipe filling on high. These will get tons of use. You might want to buy 2 for convenience.

Here’s what Sophie had to say about the economics of eco-consciousness, the allure of non-toxic nail polish, and of course, whether it’s truly easy being green.

Amazon.com: I’ve heard a common complaint that energy-saving light bulbs, organic food and clothing, and other “green” products are not as economical as traditional products. Is that true? Any tips for readers who want to be eco-conscious and budget-conscious too?

Sophie Uliano: I think that going green has a double meaning in that it also is about saving money. There is no way that I would or could go green if it meant that I was going to have to pay much more. If you make the cleaning spray that I suggest in my book, you will save a bunch on cleaning supplies because it’s an all-purpose cleaner that I use on almost everything (a great germ-buster too). You will pay a little more upfront for energy-saving light bulbs, but as they last 15 times longer, you will save money in the long run. Food is the only thing that you may have to pay a bit more for, however, I think that your health is an important investment, so I choose to save on boring cleaning supplies and treat my family to food that not only tastes more delicious, but will keep them healthy and vibrant. Remember that if you follow all the energy-saving tips in the book, you are going to save a wad of cash too–so it’s a win/win.

Amazon.com: I think many people are interested in making more sustainable choices, but when it comes to the heavy lifting it can be hard to break old habits. We tend to think, “Someone else will ride their bike to work today–I’ll drive like I always do.” What advice do you have that can help people “walk the talk”?

Uliano: I agree that it is hard to break old habits. My suggestion is to break one habit at a time. Choose the one thing that bothers you most. For me it is using paper towels when I know that I can easily use a rag instead. Make a decision about the change you want to make and tell your friends and family that you have decided to do this one thing and that you want their support. It could be that you are going to cook one organic meal from scratch once a week, or that you are going to air-dry your clothes this summer or simply that you will wash out a barely used zip-lock bag, instead of throwing it away–easy!

Amazon.com: Furthermore, I’ve heard many people worry that eco-consciousness is the first step toward becoming a granola hippie, to use one of your own phrases from the book. Do you have to be a hippie to go green?

Uliano: You so don’t have to become the tree hugger/hippie to live a green way of life. I feel passionately that you can still have the glitz, the glam and the gleaming house because now there are so many eco-friendly companies that offer you safe and healthy choices: nail polishes, organic clothes that are fabulous to name a few.

Amazon.com: Not everyone lives in an area where green options are available and accessible. Can you suggest a few ways that readers can live a greener lifestyle even if they don’t have easy access to car-sharing companies, wet dry-cleaners, and other alternatives you mention in your book?

Uliano: If you don’t have easy access to some of the green options in my book, it really doesn’t matter. No matter where you live, you can make a start. I recently visited my in-laws in Georgia, who have fewer options than we do here in Los Angeles; however, they have embarked on making their own cleaners, composting, growing veggies etc. There’s advantages to living in a metropolitan city in that you can buy all the great eco-stuff, but if you live in a more rural setting, it’s fantastic too because you may have a yard in which you can grow tomatoes or air-dry your laundry. I’d pick the latter if given the choice!

Uliano: I wrote my book for women because I realized that as a mom, wife and working girl I could show like-minded women how easy it is to become green, however, men can totally benefit from my book too! My husband doesn’t have a huge interest in non-toxic nail polish, but he’s fascinated with everything solar and has started biking everywhere. We work together as a team, inspiring each other with our daily green discoveries–it’s fun!

Customer Review: I wanted to like this book….
I wanted to like this book, I really did. I found it to be very cute, but a bit of a puff piece.

There’s alot of tid bits of information, but nothing substantial. Some information is conflicting - on one page Sophie says she avoids microwaves and doesn’t want it altering the molecules in her food. Yet, on another page, she writes that the microwave is the most eco-friendly way to cook, as it uses the least amount of energy.

And yoga sun salutations and exercise instructions don’t belong in a green guide. They just don’t!

I also purchased Easy Green Living by Renee Loux and found it to be much more substantial and informative - like a mini encyclopedia on what you need to do to live green.

I Purchased this pan as a gift for my children for christmas. There are quite a few people in the house and they needed a larger pan mainly for breakfast. The kids love it! I guess it qualifies as an obsession. I’ve spent more time playing this than most of my other games combined. Wonderful pan, just what I needed! I had to replace a Calphalon 12″ saute pan because the non-stick surface was coming loose. So far, no problems with this one, though I’ve only had it a month. Caution: this is a very heavy pan, especially with the lid on! Nice that it has the additional handle; makes it much easier to lift out of it’s storage place. They caution you to NOT use spray-on products such as PAM, because it will cause problems down the road with the pan sticking. That might be what I did wrong with the Calphalon. This pan had a small dent in the lid when I received it, in the metal rim, but my husband was able to fix it. So far I love this pan!

This pan is one you’ll love. It is heavy and heats evenly and the non stick surface is so hard and slick that I’ve yet to see anything stick to this pan. We use it for stirfry and I’ve used it for pancakes. For browning roasts before putting them in the Crock Pot. It has many many uses. The whole set is equally fabulous. I highly recommend this Anolon Advanced Cook Series.

Last of the Dogmen
Despite an irritating, tacked-on voice-over narration that somebody must have thought was necessary to make sense of the story (it wasn’t), Last of the Dogmen is actually a very moving and magical film. Tom Berenger plays a Montana bounty hunter who helps an anthropologist (Barbara Hershey) search for the descendants of a Cheyenne tribe who disappeared in the 1870s. What the two find in a remote mountain stretch is an entire community of Cheyenne who have kept themselves cut off from the modern world. A Dances with Wolves parallel emerges as the white outsiders gradually fit in, but Last of the Dogmen stands up just fine without comparison to any other films. As in Kevin Costner’s Oscar-winning movie, however, there are ways in which this film captures a similar sense of yearning, mystery, and loss. –Tom Keogh

Customer Review: Great Escape Flick
What a delight it was viewing this movie! the characters came across as genuine people you might actually know. The scenery was breathtaking. The story realistic yet fanciful. I’ve often driven through certain regions of the U.S. and imagined the lost Indian tribes that inhabited them. This movie brought my imagining to life. A hidden band of Cheyenne Indians still living as their ancestors did well over 100 years ago. It’s “Lost Horizons” and “Brigadoon” of the native American world.

I love the outdoors, but must live in the real world to make a living. This movie provides an escape into today’s wildnerness in which one is able to meet face to face Indians as they once lived. A bit fanciful and escapist, but heck, isn’t that what you want when you view a movie?

Customer Review: SPOILERS!!! It’s been a while…
… since I saw this movie, but a few things keep bothering me (in random order):

If the “Dogmen” were supposed to be the last ones standing and fight until the bitter end, how come any were left?

It took Hershey and Berenger several days to reach the Indians, but when Berenger has to go to town for medicine, he gallops right on down the mountain, zooms into the pharmacy, and gallops right back up. Yeah. Right!

Which reminds me: Horses are plains animals and of very limited use in steep terrain. Indians hunting on horseback in those woods and mountains? Extremely unlikely!

Why does Berenger bother to blow up the passage behind the waterfall after the sheriff and his cronies have just been on top of him in a helicopter? What was the purpose? There was no way those guys could NOT have seen the Indians, so the whole dynamite scene was pointless.

Last but not least, I found the characters annoyingly stereotypical: the archaeothropologist is swooning over the “noble savages”; the Indians are stoic; the white loner is rough because he’s suffered a tragic loss, but that’s just a facade anyway; whereas the sheriff is really arrogant and hateful - to name just a few.

There was no chemistry between Hershey and Berenger whatsoever, and her character’s ability to speak fluent Cheyenne was annoying.

Overall I keep wondering what the point of this movie was - other than producing some sort of “Dances With Wolves” spinoff with a pseudo-dramatic end when she decides to stay with the Indians and he rides off into the sunset.

I’m glad I watched this on cable and didn’t spend any money on it!

Customer Review: Perfect pans!
When making pies from very juicy fruits, a non-perforated pan will cause the crust to be soggy. These pans avoid that problem—it’s that simple. And, these are great pans: a nice size and a good thickness. I love them, and am ordering more since I’ve given away to friends the two I had. Good perforated pans are tough to find! Here’s a terrific and simple recipe to try, and especially useful for using up pears (if you have a tree or someone sent you a pear basket), but you need THESE PANS to make it: PEAR TART Use any crust recipe or prepared crust. Prick the crust with a fork, and bake crust alone at 400 degrees until browned (about 10 minutes). Slice 5 ripe pears and arrange in crust. In a plastic quart-size bag, knead 1/3 cup butter, 3/4 cup flour, 1/2 cup suger, and about 1/2 tsp of cinnamon until it is crumbly. (You can do this in a bowl too with your hands or with a pastry knife, but using the plastic bag method saves mess and the kids can help.) Sprinkle the crumble on top of the sliced pears, and bake til golden brown (about 45 minutes) at 400. Cool about an hour, and serve the same day (topping gets soggy otherwise)—you’ll get rave reviews! As a variation, you can also add to the pears about 1/4 cup of rough-chopped cranberries (adds tartness, kids usually don’t like this variation) or whole dried cherries (kid-friendly).

In my house I use this pan more for baking chicken than I do for cakes. It cleans up pretty easily and only has a few baked on stains around the rubber handles. I would definitely buy this pan again.

I have a glass cooktop stove and this pan works great on it. You need to preheat the pan, and once you put your food on, let it be. I just used it for the second time, and 4 burgers (at once) came out great, better than the first time. I definitely let the pan heat up longer the second time, and didn’t touch the burgers. I got great grill marks. I do wish the wall of the pan was alittle higher, as the grease really splattered on my stove. But I do love this pan!! One last thing, I have a George Forman grill, but I prefer this pan because I feel like I have more control over the process.

Customer Review: Unique Item That Fills A Roll
This is an interesting little unit as it allows you to charge USB powered items such as a music player or an AC powered item (in my case a cell phone with AC adaptor) without the need to plug into the grid. The unit’s size is about 1.5″x6.5″x2″ or about the size of a medium flashlight. The weight with battery is 281g or a little less than 10oz. It has an on/off switch on the side so you don’t discharge it and the outlets are covered by rubber covers that flip out of the way when in use.

With its light weight and small size, I see this as a something to put in the book bag/backpack to recharge a cell phone, music player or a digital camera. I don’t see why it wouldn’t be airplane friendly (check all security regulations for yourself) but it would help keep a music player going on a coast to coast flight if you don’t have or don’t want to mess with a plug-in inverter. In testing, I was able to use the USB and AC simultaneously to charge my Sony music player (USB) and cell phone (AC). They were pretty well run down and those two tapped it. It isn’t going to power you laptop but it will keep small electronic devices going when short of power.

For the price and if you have or are planning to get other items in the VPX series, I thing this is a useful item. My largest concern is whether or not the rubber caps to the outlets tear off or if the on off switch fails. Personally, I have a DC inverter for my car (see my review on the Vector MAXX 400) but that requires DC and is limited to my car. It also doesn’t do USB. I bought this unit knowing that it required an additional battery and charger but figuring that sooner or later I would need another of the tools and would get those as well. Gold Box came through for me with a $49.99 starter set with battery and charger and now I am complete (in the VPX3101 Inverter sense).

Customer Review: Good AC, Underpowered USB
I bought the inverter to do two things: 1) allow me to run an eight watt fluorescent light (for camping, or as a utility light) 2) charge my iphone when I need a little extra runtime. The inverter did fine for the first job. I was impressed how my bulb would get nice and warm, yet the battery would still remain cool. These VPX batteries (LiFePO4 I believe) must have really low internal resistance. However I was disappointed with the USB power source as it is limited to 1.75 watts (350mA)! This is enough power to charge my iPod nano, but not enough for my iPhone (the iPhone doesn’t even acknowledge that it is plugged in). I have no idea why the AC can supply 10 watts when the USB can only supply 1.75. Since USB can typically supply 2.5 watts, I suspect this inverter will fail to change many USB devices.

This thing came by rocket ship ordered it yesterday two day delivery. It was here before noon today. Amazon must had a distribution center across the street! I am so pleased with this pan. I’m waiting for the others to arrive so that I can see how they do with my bread. I cannot believe how heavyweight these pans are. It’s obvious quality. I remember my mother having something like this when I was a kid, and I have not seen anything made of this grade of metal at any of the “Cooks Supply”. Things will stick to this. So make sure you grease and flour the pan prior to putting your biscuits or bread into it. Let the pan sit for about 2 or3 minutes, give it a shake or two and the bread just falls out. I’m planning on giving myself an early Christmas present and see what other stuff like this I can find. I know for a fact that these will outlast todays non-stick. I’ve never been able to get one to last more that 5 or 6 months without failing. Great buy.

Customer Review: WOW Great Bread Pan
I have been baking bread for over 20 years and finally decided to treat myself to a commercial grade pan, hey the kids have left so why not spend their inheritance! Over the years I have used a lot of pans from inexpensive tinplate loaf pans to the good quality non stick pans. This pan ROCKS. Bakes evenly with consistently even brown crust. Great results every time. I have not had any problems with bread sticking in the pan. I spay the pan lightly and the bread literally falls out after baking. I agree with one reviewer that the folds at the ends of the pan can be a bit of a “pain” (get the pun) when you clean the pan but like they said just use a soft toothbrush to loosen any residue and problem solved (this isn’t required all the time). Chicago Metallic makes a great product …. treat yourself and get this pan. Highly recommended.

Customer Review: WHAT IS THIS STUFF?
I just received my donut pan from Amazon in 4 business days despite having chosen Free Super Saver Shipping. I love Amazon, but my opinion of this pan is so far very unfavorable. It came with a card board label attached to it with some kind of tar-like substance that I have never come across before. I can’t even get it off with Goo Gone. The instructions and recipe that is advertised to come with the pan was completely torn off because the sticky stuff was placed exactly on the English version. I am tempted to pack this up and send it back without even making donuts because I don’t know how I’m going to get this stuff off the pan. If I figure out a way and use the pan, I will update my review.
Customer Review: Great pan makes great donuts
I had never seen a pan to make baked lower fat donuts before so thought I would give it a try. Well, the pan is a nice weight, the non-stick surface works perfectly, and the donuts came out so tender and melt in your mouth. The recipe that comes with the pan is in European measurements, but I found a recipe on the internet and used it. The donuts baked evenly and actually fell out of the pan when I turned it over after taking out of the oven. My whole family could not believe these perfect little donuts. They are on the small side, but are just the right size for a snack or after dinner. I will definitely be using this pan over and over again.

Customer Review: Good line of pans
For almost two years I’ve had several sizes of these pans. They have good weight and balance, are very easy to clean quickly, and are reasonably priced. Regarding the dishwasher, I have put some of the smaller pans in there, however I’ve found that since these are so easy to clean because of the nonstick surface, it’s easier and faster to do it by hand — about as quick to wash by hand as it is to load into the dishwasher and unload later — plus then you’ve used up a lot of room that could be used for other things. Before purchasing, I considered the tri-ply pans, however the handles were terrible, especially when trying to hold the additional weight. Plus they are much more expensive. I’d definitely recommend this pan to anyone - great product and good price.

No, they don’t come anymore with an indicator that the filter needs to be changed. I marked my calendar for 2 months and will check to see if the water flow has slowed considerably before then. In any case, these will fit the old-style upright PUR pitcher and are the Only filters PUR sells now, so what are you gonna do? These new ones need to be soaked in water first then flushed to remove loose charcoal. The water filtered through them is absolutley tasteless. PURfect. Given no options, I will keep reordering these.

Customer Review: Caphalon Nonstick 13″ Round Grill
Overall it is a great pan for just about anything you can cook. However, I wish it had a spout on one side when cooking bacon or any other food that has grease you may want to drain off. When you tip the pan to drain it, you have to turn it to a vertical position which may cause your food to fall off. It has excellent heat conducting properties and can be used to broil in your oven too. Remember to use lower heat settings than standard pots and pans.

I bought this after watching an episode of America’s Test Kitchen on TV on which this pan was deemed the best of its type in an unbiased comparison. The show is put on by Chris Kimball of Cook’s Illustrated. The pan is lighter in weight than iron grill pans and has a nice large cooking surface that makes meats and fish look like they do in food ads with nice dark lines from the raised ribs. Makes food visually very appealing.

Customer Review: Great workout but needs better tracking system
P90X is by far the most challenging, varied, and effective workout system on the market. It takes commitment but the results are real and worth every bit of sweat this will cost you. The only shortcoming is the limited progress tracking tools included with the package. For a 90 day program with 12 workouts, a complex schedule, and nutrition, the paper recording sheets they provide simply don’t cut it. There is a cheap Excel worksheet though that fills that gap very nicely. It’s called P90Xcel and it’s available on eBay or directly from workoutsoft.com. Like Tony would say: “I highly recommend it”.

Customer Review: Better than the gym
I love this program. Does all areas: Strength, Cardio, Yoga/flexibility, Core/abs. Is a little longer than my other videos, but I needed that. Did have to buy a pullup bar, but it really took my workout to the next level. Wow, I have been trying to tone the flab on my arms for years with no success until now. I have been trying to define my abs more for years with no success until now. I don’t do the plyo every week like you are supposed to b/c it is very hardcore. I have mixed my other cardio videos with this strength after completing the 90 days to keep up the strength but no kill my shins too much, as a female. Only downfall, as a advanced exercise level person, there is too much rest/tony talking time inbetween exercises, which is much needed at the beginning of the first half of the 90 days, but afterwards, I was ready to speed through the resting periods. This is when we purchased a full stand pull up bar stand and now I am back to the beginning. The doorway pull up bars are great to start and then you can get a stand pullup bar to get a greater exercise.

nordic ware rocks. i love them, but i regret buying this pan. at first glance, it seems like having all these mini-castles is a great alternative to the bigger pan and one gets the variety of castles. well, it only looks good if you make light-coloured cakes. i made gingerbread and the beauty of the detail was lost. also, the cakes are oddly-sized. a little to large for one person to eat. clean-up is extremely difficult as well.

This pan was lots of fun. We made gingerbread castles for Christmas, which was a nice change from gingerbread houses made with cookies. They made great gifts. The Cakelette pan could have come with more instructions. Since the castle molds are so detailed, you have to be careful to get the batter down into all the holes. The boxed gingerbread mix seemed to work better at producing more perfect castles with finer grain, but didn’t taste as good as gingerbread from scratch.

Customer Review: Quite possibly the greatest value in cookware EVER
Let me open by saying that the negative reviews on this pan were, in my opinion, written by people who aren’t quite sure how to use it. It’s really pretty easy once you get the hang of it. Just try the following: 1) Put the pan on a large burner. 2) Coat it lightly with nonstick cooking spray. 3) Turn the burner on somewhere between medium to medium-high. 4) Once the pan is hot, put in burgers, chicken breasts, pork chops, or other decent cuts of meat. How you choose to marinate/season said cuts of meat is entirely up to you. 5) Cook anywhere from 4-7 minutes per side. 6) Enjoy your exquisitely prepared meal. 7) Clean up the pan with hot water and a ScotchBrite sponge. If you encounter difficult-to-remove, burnt-on food stains, try putting a thin layer of kosher salt on the pan and scrubbing with the SB sponge. Rinse the pan thoroughly and dry completely with paper towels or whatever. 9) Coat lightly with nonstick cooking spray. 10) Store until next use. Call me crazy, but that sounds pretty easy to me. Bottom line to all of you cast iron naysayers: be patient, keep using this pan, and eventually you’ll learn how to get the most out of it. It really is terrific!

Customer Review: An excellent solution, much better than gas powered
I have owned this mower for three years. It cuts great. Electric is a great alternative to gas powered, if it’s practical. You can mow any time of the day without worrying about noise, you never have to worry about oil changes, running out of gas, or storing gas for that matter. Also, clean up is easier because one can flip this item over (in the grass, when it’s not plugged in) to clean it out and not worry about flooding any engine or spilling gas. Of course, the pain is the cord but if you have a small lawn, it’s not a big deal. This mower works great.

I bought this pan for my daughters 1st Birthday and her cake was a total hit! I had no problems getting the cake out of the pan. Next time I will add a little more batter to each one. I read some other reveiws that stated the bottom cooks longer than the top, so I let the bottom cook for 10-15 mins first and then added the batter to the top. It worked great! I love this pan and use it all the time. I make eggs or a frittata for 1-2 people, hot sandwiches, small quantities of sauce and can even blanch small amounts of vegetables in it. I have both this and the 10 inch pan and for a 2 person home I use this 8 inch pan most often. If you have a larger home then the 10 inch would probably be more handy.

I have attempted to use this product about 10 times with no luck. I cannot get a cup of coffee that isn’t severely watered down. I’ve tried all different degrees of grind, different types of coffee, different amounts in the cup. I can’t get it to work. I really am not technologically challenged and I feel like I should be capable of using this product the correct way. I can’t get anything that tastes like coffee should out of it. I am very frustrated because I love my Keurig brewer but I hate throwing away so much plastic. I really wish that it worked.

First a little background. I rarely review products, I’m a very good cook and I’ve cooked professionally in several restaurants. The analon grill pan is as good as it gets for stove top grilling. That being said it, like all the others it doesn’t give you anything close to an outdoor grilled flavor. However, if used properly, it gives you several advantages of grilling: cooking above the fat, grill marks, and a slight grilled flavor. Using the pan properly is key. I preheat the pan at a strong medium heat for 5 to 6 minutes, lightly coat the items I’m grilling with olive oil–rather than the pan, or a marinade/vinagrette, and deglaze the pan afterwards. I also fill the pan with water right after grilling and have had no trouble at all cleaning it later on. I’ve grilled chicken, beef, pork, frozen shrimp and vegetables. I flattened (pounded) the chicken and pork as I think quick grilling best for this sort of appliance, but that’s only speculation. Using a grill pan may make for healthier pan cooking. There’s concern now with the carcinogenic aspects of browning and carbonization in fat; since a grill pan lifts the food above the fat it causes less carbonization than does pan frying and therefore less carcinogens. So, as long as you’re not expecting true grilled flavor, you can’t go wrong with this pan.

I’ve always been impressed with the Anolon line and have been slowly adding to my set. This one has to be the best investment I’ve made. I’ve cooked burgers, picnic ribs w/BBQ sauce and shish kabobs and everything has had that “outside grilled” taste. Best of all is the clean-up - no sweat. Everything just wipes off.

Customer Review: It works perfectly for my uses.
I like to make my own sauces and stocks in large quantities then freeze them for later use. I have found that a “saucier” type of pot, that gets wider at the top, allows more water to evaporate and quickens the thickening process. Up till now I’ve used a 5.5 qt. stainless steel pot but it finally gave out and is no longer being made. I shopped around and read all the reviews for large sauciers like this Circulon. I’ve never used Circulon before so was uncertain if I’d like it, but the price was right and a 6-qt pot is exactly what I needed. Now that I’ve tested it, I’m glad to report that the pot works perfectly and I recommend it for the use I make of it. The pot is indeed rather heavy. On the plus side that gives it very good footing on my electric stove, and allows the element to work very efficiently, so I can put the pot on the small elements to reduce my sauces and stocks rather nicely. Fit and finish is excellent. Neither handle gets very hot and I’ve drained the pot several times without potholders. Note on the “non-stick.” There is no lining in the pot. It is anodized aluminum and the rings in the bottom prevent sticking. I’ve had not problems with the system, but not being familiar with Circulon I was expecting some sort of teflon-like coating. Learn something new every day!
