The shape is perfect for a large meal and the unit also fits in the refrigerator. I especially like the glass top, the steam release and ability to set the pan at an angle to facilitate the collection of grease.
Customer Review: Lid is DANGEROUS!!!
I purchased this skillet so that I would get a more even distribution of heat for cooking larger amounts of food. Unfortunately this product can’t compare to my regular skillet - which is a 12″ Kitchen Aid - anodized aluminum pan. And does NOT provide as GOOD a heat distribution. I’m using it because I already purchased it - when it dies - that’s it for electric skillets. IF you only need to use this skillet for say frying eggs and bacon or perhaps fried chicken (things that don’t require you place a lid over them) it’s okay - but you are taking a very BIG risk of getting burned or dropping the lid when using it. On this particular model the handle - IF not tightened “just right” wabbles! Then - this is the WORST part - the handle gets so hot I almost dropped the lid the first time I picked it up. I now use a pot holder. I certainly would NOT recommed the purchase of this model to anyone - nor in all liklihood ANY of the retangular ones - the lid whether wabbly or not is cumbersom. It appears that very little thought went into the design and construction of the lid handle. The handle should NOT be round - nor a “KNOB” (like this one) - it should be a REAL handle which you can firmly grasp - and should be constructed so that one does not run the risk of burning themselves. Buy and use at your own risk - you’ve been warned!!!
