WearEver Premium Hard-Anodized 12-Inch Saute Pan
12″, Hard Anodized, Saute Pan, Wearever Hard Anodized Metal Safe Nonstick Interior, Stainless Steel Handles, Glass Cover.
Customer Review: Ultimate 12″ saute pan
Rated a ‘best buy’ and highly recommended by Cooks Illustrated, I nevertheless hesitated to buy it sight unseen. But having used it (and its 8″ little cousin) I continue to be amazed…handle stays cool; it’s easy to clean; good balance; even heating/cooking; seems very durable. I really looked hard before buying this one, but very glad I have it now! I then bought the Wearever 10″ covered skillet, in the same style and construction, which I also highly recommend.
Customer Review: Excellent Skillet-Saute Pan @ Fabulous Price:
This skillet (listed as Saute Pan, but works perfectly for frying, as well) is really great! Nothing sticks, it is so clean looking after use, it doesn’t appear soiled enough to even need washing with detergent, (though I do wash it with detergent to make sure no greasy residue remains) it actually looks like all it needs is a hot water rinse. And the 12″ size fits the burner on my electric range perfectly. Very satisfied with it! Alphia Larkins
Calphalon Commercial Hard-Anodized 12-Inch Everyday Pan with Lid
This 12-inch everyday pan will end up being the hardest working pan in your kitchen. It is ideal for everything from simmering stovetop succotash and braising brisket to browning Dutch pancakes or cooking fruit tarts. Part of Calphalon’s Commercial Hard-Anodized line of cookware, this pan is made of heavy-gauge aluminum that’s uniformly thick across the bottom and sides, allowing for quick and even heat distribution. Its durable hard-anodized finish is stick- and scratch-resistant and won’t react with acidic foods. The patented cast stainless-steel handles are comfortable to grip, plus they minimize heat transfer so handles stay cool on the stovetop. Handles are held in place by three sturdy stainless-steel rivets. The included hard-anodized lid is dome-shaped, making it ideal for moist-heat cooking. The cookware and lid are oven-safe up to 450 degrees F so you can transfer a frittata to the oven for browning without having to switch pans. All cookware in this line is covered by a lifetime warranty. –Cristina Vaamonde
Customer Review: attractive price - lasted three years
Good pan for a very attractive price. When we purchased it, the pan was still described as non-stick. This it is certainly NOT. I would call actually more of a “stick-pan” than non-stick. Nevertheless it cleans up very well after a bit of soaking. The bottom of our pan de-formed after three years and looks now more like a wok. Thus I am looking for a replacement at the moment, likely a stainless steel pan.
Customer Review: Calphalon 12-inch everyday pan with lid
Great versatile pan. I use it all the time. Multi-purpose pan can be used as a skillet, a frying pan, a griddle, a braiser. I love it. I bought 2 of them.
KitchenAid Gourmet Essentials Hard Anodized Nonstick 12-Inch Covered Stir Fry Pan
Cooking is always more fun with good equipment. This 12” covered stir fry pan by KitchenAid is made of hard-anodized aluminum for long-term durability and outstanding performance. It also features a superior nonstick surface for easy food release; cool-grip handles made of soft silicone rubber; a break-resistant glass lid; and it’s oven-safe up to 400?. Imported.
Customer Review: Replacement Lids Not Available
There’s nothing really wrong with the pan, but if you think there’s even the slightest chance that you will drop and break the glass lid, do not buy this pan. I broke my lid, and when I contacted KitchenAid to obtain a new lid, they told me they do not sell the lids separately. Any manufacturer who sells a product with a part that is easily breakable and does not sell replacement parts is clearly trying to squeeze extra money out of the consumer - surely they have the crazy idea I’m going to buy another complete pan and lid set from them! Fortunately, my husband found another brand of glass lid that fits just fine. But it was a hassle. That was a year ago; perhaps KitchenAid has decided to sell replacement lids now. You should look into that before you spend your hard-earned money on this skillet.
Customer Review: Stir Fry Pan
We shopped around for smaller stir fry pans and were happy to find this one wiith a cover on it. Handle is comfortable and protects you from heated wok. We use this wok often as it it just the right size for a family of 3 or 4. Cleans up easily. Seller mailed the stir fry pan out promptly after payment.
Chicago Metallic Professional Non-Stick Perforated French Bread Pan
Having trouble getting French bread to look and taste like the local baker’s? This professional perforated French bread pan is the answer. With two 16-by-4-inch curved holders, it’s ideal for making two loaves of French bread. The perforations in the curved holders promote a crisp crust and even browning by allowing the oven’s heat to reach the bread directly. Heavy-gauge steel and a Silverstone nonstick surface deliver a quick release and easy cleanup. –Jane DePaolo
Customer Review: So, that’s what I was doing wrong
Very heavy, works great. Remember to either spray it or use parchment when you place the loaves on. If your dought isn’t bone dry, you will be soaking and using a toothpick to get it clean for weeks. Great bread!
Customer Review: Terrific for gluten free french bread
I was incredibly pleased and surprised at how well my french bread turned out. Needing to make my own gluten free bread, it came out with great texture and appearance. Thanks to a previous review, I took care to use parchment paper before placing the dough on the pan. As gluten free bread dough is more batter-like, it would be very difficult to clean the pan due to its perforations without using the parchment paper. So, I would caution anyone who has to make GF bread to always use parchment paper.
