Buffy the Vampire Slayer Season Eight, Volume 1: The Long Way Home

Buffy the Vampire Slayer Season Eight, Volume 1: The Long Way Home
Since the destruction of the Hellmouth, the Slayers - newly legion - have gotten organized and are kicking some serious undead butt. But not everything’s fun and firearms, as an old enemy reappears and Dawn experiences some serious growing pains. Meanwhile, one of the “Buffy” decoy slayers is going through major pain of her own. Buffy creator Joss Whedon brings Buffy back to Dark Horse in this direct follow-up to season seven of the smash-hit TV series. The bestselling and critically acclaimed issues #1-5 are collected here for the first time, as are their covers by Jo Chen and Georges Jeanty.

Customer Review: Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Volume 1: Long Way Home
BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER: LONG WAY HOME BY JOSS WHEDON, ET. AL.: For Buffy fans who felt that when the show ended there was still more to be said about the Buffyverse, writer and creator Joss Whedon thankfully has turned to something else he does just as well as TV: comic books. With the first trade of what is officially being called “Buffy the Vampire Slayer Season Eight” now out, it is clear that there is still much to be told by Whedon about Buffy and her friends.

Little time has past since the town of Sunnydale was turned into a giant crater. While there was originally one Chosen One, there is now a veritable army of “slayerettes” in training to be as good as the real thing. There are also two doppelgangers of Buffy, one in Rome and one literally underground in a different world, each intended to distract any enemies from the real Buffy. But at the same time there’s a secret government group - not the Initiative - which feels that the world isn’t safe when there’s such a powerful slayer on the loose, and with some help from some of Buffy’s old enemies, they intend to put an end to her once and for all. There’s also a strange symbol that keeps showing up, indicating something much larger and more sinister going on.

Long Way Home features some beautiful artwork, giving life to characters that many fans thought were done with; the trade also has full pages of the alternate covers from the first five issues. It’s the introduction to what looks to be a long series in the continuing story of Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

Customer Review: BTVS Season 8 Rocks
Compressed into a bite sized package of comic goodness, BTVS season 8 gives fans a tasty morsel of Buffyness to take the edge off the loss of Joss Whedon’s darkly brilliant show. Only Joss could transform an extraordinarily innovative TV show into an equally dynamic comic without missing a lick of action or losing any of the depth of character that made the TV show such a pleasure.

Chicago Metallic Commercial 18-Inch by 13-Inch Jelly Roll Pan
Chicago Metallic’s classic 18-by-13-by-1-inch pan is a must for any baker’s kitchen. Line it with parchment or wax paper, and thin cakes come out ready to roll. With slightly tapered sides, the pan holds twelve cups by volume, just right for a basic sheet cake. To make smaller cakes, line with aluminum foil, folding it into a little wall and filling the unused portion with dried beans or rice for balance. This versatile pan also accommodates 12 large cookies or shortbread. –Shannon Borg
Customer Review: Made in China
I bought 1 of these pans, and while it is very high quality, I would rather spend just a little bit more and get the same pan made in the USA. These same Chicago Metallic pans are also sold at Williams-Sonoma, but the ones there are made in the USA rather than China. I have already purchased it and will be returning the one that I bought at Amazon.
Customer Review: Non-non-stick baking pan
There are times when you need a baking sheet that you don’t have to worry about marring the non-stick coating while cutting (e.g pizza). This is an excellent heavy-duty sheet.

Customer Review: Pantastic
First a little background. I rarely review products, I’m a very good cook and I’ve cooked professionally in several restaurants. The analon grill pan is as good as it gets for stove top grilling. That being said it, like all the others it doesn’t give you anything close to an outdoor grilled flavor. However, if used properly, it gives you several advantages of grilling: cooking above the fat, grill marks, and a slight grilled flavor. Using the pan properly is key. I preheat the pan at a strong medium heat for 5 to 6 minutes, lightly coat the items I’m grilling with olive oil–rather than the pan, or a marinade/vinagrette, and deglaze the pan afterwards. I also fill the pan with water right after grilling and have had no trouble at all cleaning it later on. I’ve grilled chicken, beef, pork, frozen shrimp and vegetables. I flattened (pounded) the chicken and pork as I think quick grilling best for this sort of appliance, but that’s only speculation. Using a grill pan may make for healthier pan cooking. There’s concern now with the carcinogenic aspects of browning and carbonization in fat; since a grill pan lifts the food above the fat it causes less carbonization than does pan frying and therefore less carcinogens. So, as long as you’re not expecting true grilled flavor, you can’t go wrong with this pan.
Customer Review: Great for grilling!!
I’ve always been impressed with the Anolon line and have been slowly adding to my set. This one has to be the best investment I’ve made. I’ve cooked burgers, picnic ribs w/BBQ sauce and shish kabobs and everything has had that “outside grilled” taste. Best of all is the clean-up - no sweat. Everything just wipes off.

NordicWare Castle Bundt Pan
9.75″ x 9.75″ x 4.4″, 10 Cup Capacity, Castle Bundt Pan, Bake A Classic Bundt Cake In The Shape Of A Castle.
Customer Review: Castle Bundt Cakepan
I purchased this item so that I could make a castle cake for my grand daughters fifth birthday. She is a self proclaimed princess! And loves Disney! I am very pleased with the quality of the product and was very surprised at the strength of the material the pan is made of. I would highly suggest this product to any baker!
Customer Review: my daugher loves the castle!
I sprayed the pan well, and the cake came out easily. Since you can’t put frosting on the cake, we put it underneath, using white icing dyed blue for water like a moat. First icing on the cake plate, then the cake, then I started clumpping the icing around it with the idea I would smooth it out. But, it looked like waves crashing around the castle, so I left it like it was! I used the spray on blue decorating stuff to put more blue on, and used blue sugar crystals to give it some dimension, and I am not terrible artistic but it looked fantastic! I will use this pan many, many times and my local bakery even wants to take a look at it for some ideas. So worth the 20 bucks!

Customer Review: Love these Analon Pans!
Super easy to clean and nothing sticks to this bad boy! This is one heck of a pan, nice and heavy. I cook a lot and this pan has gotten quite a work out. After a year there was some color change to the bottom, but it hasn’t hampered the cooking. I love my Analon set, in fact I love these pans better then my Calphalon sets! The food cooks evenly every time.
Customer Review: Fabulous piece of Cookware
I own several Anolon cookware pieces. You will not be sorry to purchase this high quality pan. Nothing beats having the right tools of superior quality for the job at hand.
